Abstract

A pressure relief valve (34) is provided that includes a valve housing (42), a poppet valve (44) and a damper (46). The valve housing (42) includes a valve seat (90) and a bore (74). The poppet valve (44) includes a head (110) and a stem (112). The head (110) is configured to engage the valve seat (90) when the poppet valve (44) is in a closed position. The head (110) is configured to disengage the valve seat (90) when the poppet valve (44) is in an open position. The stem (112) projects axially out from the head (110) and through the bore (74). The damper (46) includes a damper chamber (164) axially between the valve housing (42) and the head (110).
