Abstract

A device (100) for stimulating a nerve (10) of a living being comprises: a stimulation generating unit (110); a first pair of electrodes (114), a second pair of electrodes (134), and a third pair of electrodes (144) configured to be arranged in a first, second, and third location, respectively, in relation to the nerve (10); wherein the stimulation generating unit (110) is configured to generate a first waveform comprising a first frequency; a second waveform comprising a second frequency, and a third waveform comprising a third frequency to the first, second, and third pairs of electrodes (114; 134; 144), respectively; wherein the first and second frequencies define a beat frequency and the third frequency is related to the beat frequency by an integer number, wherein the stimulation generating unit (110) is configured to output the first, second, and third waveforms for causing interferential stimulation in the nerve (10).
