Abstract

The invention provides a monitoring device 1 for monitoring operating components of a system 100, which comprises a probability data device 10, configured to determine probability data for at least one operating component 110 of the system 100, which describes a probability distribution of error-free operation of said component 110 in dependence of a monitoring variable of said component 110, wherein the probability data device 10 is configured to calculate probability data from training data of said component 110 and further to perform a correction step in case the calculated probability data has a dispersion value equal to zero, wherein a correction factor is applied to the calculated probability data such that the determined probability data has a dispersion value greater than zero, a receiving device 20, configured to receive a value of the monitoring variable of said component 110 from a measuring device 111 connected to said component 110, a diagnosis device 30, configured to determine a state parameter for said component 110 in dependence of the received value of the monitoring variable and the determined probability data, and an output device 40, configured to output an output signal corresponding to the determined state parameter.
