Abstract

An assembly (18) for use in releasing a preform (12) from a tooling fixture (14) comprises a solid body (22) engageable with the fixture (14) via a seal (26), a manifold (20) formed in the solid body (22) and in flow communication with the preform (12) via a plurality of holes (16) in the tooling fixture (14), and a fluid source (24) in flow communication with the manifold (20) and configured to supply fluid to the manifold (20). The fluid comprises at least one of a gas and a slurry.
