Abstract

The invention describes a laser cutting system to produce a perforated tubular workpiece, for example a stent, from a tubular semi-finished product (20) comprising a laser cutter (30) and a beam block (10, 110), wherein the beam block to considerably reduce the production costs, comprises• a tubular head section (11) configured to be accommodated within a semi-finished product inner cavity during laser cutting, wherein the tubular head section (11, 111) has a recess (11c, 111c) at its first end (11a, 111a) that allows depositing molten workpiece material (50) at an inner surface of the head section (11, 111),• a shaft section (12, 112, 112a) located at a second end (11b, 111b) of the tubular head section (11, 111), and• a plunger element (17, 117) configured to be reciprocated along a head section inner cavity to the first end (11a, 111a) of the tubular head section (11, 111) thereby ejecting molten workpiece material (50) deposited at an inner surface of the head section (11, 111).Further, an operation method for such laser cutting system and beam block, a manufacturing method for such perforated tubular workpiece as well as a perforated tubular workpiece manufactured accordingly are described.
