Abstract

The present invention relates to a pad (1, 12) for treating a wound, comprising- a first nonwoven layer (2), said first nonwoven layer (2) intended for facing away from the wound when the pad (1, 12) is positioned over the wound during wound treatment,- a second nonwoven layer (3, 4), said second nonwoven layer (3, 4) consisting of a different material than the first nonwoven layer (2) and intended for facing towards the wound when the pad (1, 12) is positioned over the wound during wound treatment,- an ultrasonic weld (5) connecting a border of the first nonwoven layer (2) and a border of the second nonwoven layer (3, 4) with each other such that the first nonwoven layer (2) and the second nonwoven layer (3, 4) form a pocket (6), and- an absorbent core (7) located within the pocket (6),characterized in that the first nonwoven layer (2) and the second nonwoven layer (3, 4) comprise plastic fibers consisting of the same material. The pad according to the present invention may be more conformable than prior art absorbent wound pads. A dressing, a production process and a treatment method regarding the pad are also described.
