Abstract
The invention relates to a signal processing method performed by a hearing device, for determining a tap on the housing of a hearing device, comprising: (a) obtaining at least one detected signal from at least one detector of the hearing device, wherein the at least one detector includes at least one microphone;(b) pre-processing at least one of the at least one detected signal for obtaining at least one pre-processed signal; (c) applying a band pass filter with a predetermined threshold for a maximum signal amplitude and with a predetermined duration to the at least one pre-processed signal; (d) counting how many times the at least one pre-processed signal exceeds and / or falls below the threshold for a maximum signal amplitude within the predetermined duration; and (e) determining if the at least one of the at least one detected signal corresponds to a true tap on the housing of the hearing device on the basis of the result of the counting. A correspondingly formed hearing device is also described.
