Abstract

A communication system (102) for outboard motor drive includes a main bus line (3, 103) including two signal lines (30) configured to transmit data using a voltage difference between the two signal lines, and configured to communicate with an outboard motor (1), an in-hull maneuvering controller (102a) provided at a first end (3a) of the main bus line in a hull (101), a first terminating resistor (2a) provided in the in-hull maneuvering controller and configured to electrically connect the two signal lines, and a second terminating resistor (2b) provided at a second end (3b) of the main bus line and configured to electrically connect the two signal lines. The main bus line is connected to the second terminating resistor provided in the hull by passing through the outboard motor from a side of the first terminating resistor and making a U-turn.
