Abstract
The invention relates to a method for improving the dielectric strength of a gas-insulated high voltage device, the method comprising the steps:- providing a high voltage device comprising at least one closed compartment being configured to be filled with a gas, at least one solid insulator, and at least one conductor, wherein the solid insulator and/or the conductor are at least partially enclosed by the compartment,- filling the compartment of the provided high voltage device with a conditioning gas,- conditioning the filled high voltage device by connecting the conductor to a voltage source and thereby provoking electrical discharges inside the compartment filled with the conditioning gas, and- providing the gas-insulated high voltage device by replacing the conditioning gas of the conditioned high voltage device with an insulation gas.Furthermore, the invention relates to a gas-insulated high voltage device obtained by the above method.Further, the invention relates to a gas-insulated high voltage device having an increased dielectric strength.
