Abstract

The disclosure relates to an apparatus comprising: means for determining (1900) that the apparatus has a static or semi-static location; means for determining (1902) to transmit an activation signal with phase rotations to activate a passive tag based on the apparatus having a static or semi-static location; and means for transmitting the activation signal with phase rotations, wherein a number and/or values of phase rotations are based on at least one of a wavelength of the activation signal, a distance from the apparatus to another apparatus configured to transmit the activation signal without phase rotations, a distance from the apparatus to a reflector or a distance from another apparatus configured to transmit the activation signal without phase rotations to a reflector
