Abstract

The present invention is related to a fume extraction device (30), which is arranged or arrangeable below a worktop (21). The fume extraction device (30) comprises - a fan (31) for sucking air from the area (CS) above the cooking hob (20) through a suction opening (23) of the fume extraction device (30), - a cover element (35), which is arranged at the suction opening (23), and - at least one light source (85, 87), which is arranged in the area of the suction opening (23) and/or at or on the cover element (35). The at least one light source (85, 87) comprises a display means (85, 87) configured to provide visual information. According to the invention, the cover element (35) is moveable from a first position to at least a second position, and the display means (87) is arranged at or on the moveable cover element (35) and is configured to display the visual information both in the first position and in the at least second position. Further disclosed are a combination appliance (1) comprising a cooking hob (20) and a fume extraction device (30) as well as a method for operating a fume extraction device (30) or a combination appliance (1).
