Abstract

A heating apparatus for an aerosol generating device is disclosed, the heating apparatus (10) comprising: an insulator comprising an inner wall (16) and an outer wall (14), the inner wall defining a heating zone and comprising an opening (20) through which an aerosol forming substance can be received in the heating zone, the outer wall positioned radially outwardly with respect to the inner wall; the insulator further comprising a welded bridge (24) connecting the inner wall and the outer wall, wherein the welded bridge comprises a groove (32); and a heating element arranged on the inner wall and configured to provide heat to a received aerosol forming substance.
