Abstract

The present invention relates to an anvil (402) of an ultrasonic sealing system (200) for sealing a transversal sealing section (302) of a tube (112) of packaging material. The transversal sealing section (302) comprises a first transversal edge section (304), a longitudinal sealing (LS) section (306) and a second transversal edge section (308), said anvil (402) comprising a ridge (410) extending along a first axis (A1) of the anvil (402). The anvil (410) comprises: a middle section (424) arranged to interact with at least the LS section (306) of the tube (112) during a transversal sealing state, a first and a second side section (420, 428) arranged to interact with at least the first and the second transversal edge section (304, 308) of the tube (112), respectively, during the transversal sealing state, a first transition section (422) arranged between the first side section (420) and the middle section (424), and a second transition section (426) arranged between the middle section (424) and the second side section (428), wherein, in the first transition section (422), the ridge (410) transitions from a first height (H1) of the first side section (420) to a second height (H2) of the middle section (424) over a first width (W1) of the first transition section (422), wherein, in the second transition section (426), the ridge (410) transitions from the second height (H2) of the middle section (424) to a third height (H3) of the second side section (428) over a second width (W2) of the second transition section (426), wherein the first width (W1) of the first transition section (422) is smaller than the second width (W2) of the second transition section (426).
