Abstract
The invention relates to a lubricant composition comprising:5 - 99 wt% of a non-halogenated ionic liquid or a mixture of non-halogenated ionic liquids, 0 - 15 wt% of one or more non-halogenated additives for lubricants, andthe balance of a non-halogenated ionic thickener with at least 1 wt% of non-halogenated ionic thickener. The invention also relates to a lubricating compound based entirely on the lubricant composition and to a method of protective surface treatment of a component configured to be exposed to wear.
