Abstract

A filtration system comprising a hub, a filter cartridge support and an actuator. The hub comprises a gas inlet port; a gas outlet port; and an inert gas channel for communicating an inert gas. The filter cartridge support accommodates at least three filter cartridges at respective filter cartridge locations. The actuator moves the filter cartridge support relative to the hub such that a filter cartridge located in each filter cartridge location cycles between the following positions: i) a cartridge purge position, at which an inlet port of the filter cartridge is in fluid connection with the inert gas channel of the hub; ii) a filtering position, at which: the inlet and outlet ports of the filter cartridge are in fluid connection with the gas inlet and outlet ports of the hub; and a passivation position, at which the filter cartridge can be passivated and subsequently removed from the filter cartridge support.
