Abstract

There are provided measures for efficient exploitation of spectrum extension resources. Such measures exemplarily comprise generating an uplink signal, wherein said uplink signal is a signal which is subjected to spectrum extension and which corresponds to a total band allocation including an in-band portion and at least one excess-band portion, wherein said at least one excess-band portion corresponds to said spectrum extension, and transmitting said uplink signal, and in relation to said generating, such measures exemplarily comprise dividing a data stream to be transmitted into a first data sub-stream and a second data sub-stream, modulating symbols of said uplink signal based on said first data sub-stream, arranging said symbols in said in-band portion, copying said symbols arranged in at least one predetermined subportion of said in-band portion to said at least one excess-band portion, determining, based on said second data sub-stream, first state subcarriers of said total band allocation and second state subcarriers of said total band allocation, wherein a first subset of said second state subcarriers is located in said at least one excess-band portion, and modifying said symbols arranged on said second state subcarriers.
