Abstract

A system and a method for manufacturing an electrode assembly for a battery are disclosed. The method includes supplying a first electrode sheet to a first cutter; cutting, by operating the first cutter, the first electrode sheet to form a first electrode cut portion having a first length; acquiring first position data reflecting positions on the first electrode sheet supplied to the first cutter, and/or generating a first cut count value each time the first length of the first electrode sheet is supplied to the first cutter; supplying a second electrode sheet to a second cutter; cutting, by operating the second cutter, the second electrode sheet to form a second electrode cut portion having a second length; acquiring second position data reflecting positions on the second electrode sheet supplied to the second cutter, and/or generating a second cut count value each time the second length of the second electrode sheet is supplied to the second cutter; manufacturing an electrode assembly by combining the first electrode cut portion and the second electrode cut portion with a separator interposed therebetween; and assigning identification information to the manufactured electrode assembly, wherein the identification information is associated with the first cut count value and/or the first position data corresponding to the first electrode cut portion, and with the second cut count value and/or the second position data corresponding to the second electrode cut portion.
