Abstract

A system method of resource allocation for coexistence of low latency, low loss and scalable throughput (L4S) traffic and non-L4S traffic in a 5G wireless system includes: classifying, by a centralized unit - user plane (CU-UP), each downlink (DL) data radio bearer (DRB) as one of L4S DRB or non-L4S DRB and sorting the computed scheduling metric values for each L4S and non-L4S DRB to select a specified L number of logical channels with the highest values of the scheduling metric.
