Abstract

Computer-implemented method for determining systematic errors of an image-based object detector comprising the steps of:• Determining (901) a first image of an object from a plurality of objects;• Determining (902) edges of the object or a pose of the object;• Determining (903) a at least one visual attribute out of a set of possible visual attributes of the object to be tested for systematic errors;• Generating (904), by a generative machine learning system, a second image using the at least one visual attribute as or in a prompt of the generative machine learning system thereby generating an image of the object exhibiting the at least one visual attribute, wherein the generative machine learning system is additionally conditioned on the determined edges or the pose of the object;• Placing (906) the object from the second image into an image of a background scene thereby generating a third image;• Evaluating (907) the object detector on the third image and using the evaluation for determining systematic errors of the object detector.
