Abstract

There are provided an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus and a control method of the ultrasound diagnostic apparatus by which a user can reliably perform comprehensive scanning of an organ.An ultrasound diagnostic apparatus includes an ultrasound probe (1); a position and posture sensor (13) that acquires position and posture information of the ultrasound probe; an image acquisition unit (32) that acquires an ultrasound image of a subject; a contour detection unit (25) that detects a contour of an organ imaged in the ultrasound image; a region detection unit (27) that detects a region of the organ imaged in the ultrasound image; a contour data generation unit (26) that generates three-dimensional image data of the contour on the basis of the detected contour and the position and posture information; a region data generation unit (28) that generates three-dimensional image data of the region on the basis of the detected region and the position and posture information; and a monitor (23) that sequentially displays an image representing the contour and an image representing the region on the basis of the three-dimensional image data of the contour and the region.
