Abstract

Systems and methods are disclosed for using a pressure relief shipping adapter (100) to reduce the internal pressure of a container (105). A pressure relief shipping adapter (100) includes a body (230) comprising a first portion (255), a transitional portion (310), and a second portion (260). The first portion (255) comprises a set of protrusions (250) and a hole (285) disposed through the set of protrusions (250). The second portion (260) comprises an outlet disposed at a second end of the body (230). The outlet is concentric with an inlet disposed at the first end of the body (230). The transitional section is disposed between the first portion (255) and the second portion (260). The pressure relief shipping adapter (100) also includes an internal chamber (290) within the body (230).
