Abstract

The present invention relates to capsules for preparation of a beverage upon injection of liquid under pressure into the capsule, wherein the capsule body comprises or consists of a biopolymer film comprising polyglycolide (PGA), wherein the biopolymer film comprises a layered structure comprising biopolymer layer - PGA layer - biopolymer layer, and wherein the PGA is blended with poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT), polycaprolactone (PCL), polylactic acid (PLA), and/or nanocellulose.
