Abstract

The present invention relates to capsules for preparation of a beverage upon injection of liquid under pressure into the capsule, wherein the capsule body comprises or consists of a biopolymer film comprising polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) and polyglycolide (PGA), wherein the biopolymer film comprises a layered structure comprising PHA layer - PGA layer - PHA layer, and wherein the PHA has been chemically modified with one or more chain extenders and/or one or more compatibilizers.
