Abstract

A mechanism for tracking one or more ultrasound images for one or more anatomical views. An ultrasound image is processed to identify the anatomical view represented by the ultrasound image. The ultrasound image is compared to a set of one or more historic ultrasound images, providing the same view, to determine whether or not the ultrasound image provides a higher quality depiction of the anatomical view. If the ultrasound image provides a higher quality depiction, view tracking information is updated to replace reference to a historic ultrasound image (in the set) with the ultrasound image.
