Abstract

The present invention relates to a hydrogel obtainable by a method comprising at least three steps, namely reacting, in an aqueous medium, at least one constituent a1) comprising at least one phosphorous containing functional group with at least one constituent a2) comprising at least one amino group that it is reactive towards the at least one phosphorous containing functional group of constituent a1) to form a phosphorous containing intermediate product IP1 (step 1)), adding at least one of at least one kind of (i) aluminum oxide hydroxide particles at least one kind of (ii) aluminum oxide particles, and at least one kind of (iii) at least one aluminum containing precursor for generating the at least one kind of particles (i) and/or (ii) as constituent a3) to the aqueous mixture containing the intermediate product IP1 to form a phosphorous and aluminum containing intermediate product IP2 (step 2)), and curing the aqueous mixture containing the intermediate product IP2 obtainable after having performed step 2) to form the hydrogel (step 3)), a method for its preparation, a use thereof as fireproofing gel and/or for fire protection, in particular in glazing applications, and to a substrate having at least one surface, onto which the inventive hydrogel has been at least partially applied.
