Abstract

Provided are a side component rubber composition and a tire that are sustainable and have a high abrasion resistance upon the collision with a curb. The side component rubber composition contains: a rubber component including an isoprene-based rubber and at least one of polybutadiene rubber or styrene-butadiene rubber; carbon black including recycled carbon black; and a hydrazide compound, the side component rubber composition having a ratio (Cc/Ic) of an amount Cc (parts by mass) of the carbon black per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component to an amount Ic (% by mass) of the isoprene-based rubber based on 100% by mass of the rubber component of higher than 0.8.
