Abstract

Process and apparatus for the gas-phase polymerization of olefins to produce monomodal or multimodal polyolefins, carried out in a reactor having two interconnected polymerization zones, wherein a liquid barrier stream is established between said zones to produce multimodal polyolefins by using a liquid monomer conveyed through a pipeline connected to a second pipeline suitable to feed a gas stream at a defined point, said gas stream being used during the production of monomodal polyolefins to replace said liquid barrier.
