Abstract

A self-insulated air gasper (108, 116, 118, 120, 122) and a ventilation system (100) including a series arrangement of air gaspers. In embodiments, each air gasper is manufactured to include a double wall configuration including inner and outer walls (146, 148) spaced apart to trap air or other insulative material. In embodiments, a series of air gaspers include a through passage (112) and take-off duct (114) for delivering air to an environment, for instance a passenger suite (200) in an aircraft or other confined space. Each air gasper may further include a foraminous restrictor (144) positioned at the terminal end of the duct outlet. In use, hose connections (110, 124, 126, 128, 130, 134) may be wrapped with insulative covering whereas the self-insulative feature of the air gaspers obviates the need for external insulative wrapping.
