Abstract
An aircraft ground collision avoidance system is disclosed. A current first aircraft position, a current first aircraft speed, and a current first aircraft heading of a first aircraft is generated based on aircraft sensor data received from an aircraft sensor system. First taxi route data for the first aircraft is received from air traffic control (ATC) via an aircraft communication system. A first airport travel pathway of the first aircraft is predicted based on the current first aircraft position, the current first aircraft speed, the current first aircraft heading, and the first taxi route data. A determination is made regarding whether there is an intersection between the first airport travel pathway of the first aircraft and a position of an obstacle. The intersection defines a potential collision point. A potential collision alert is generated for display on a display device of the first aircraft based on the determination.
