Abstract

The present invention relates to the determination of relapsing in a patient suffering from a Pemphigus vulgaris after rituximab treatment.Given the disappearance of autoreactive B cells after RTX treatment in PV patients, which correlated with the rapid decrease of Dsg-3-specific Tfh cells, and given the potential regulatory role of Tfr cells, the inventors assessed the re-emergence and long-term evolution of circulating autoreactive Dsg-3-Tfh and Tfr cells after RTX treatment and correlated these findings with the clinical and serological course of PV patients. Notably, the inventor determined that in PV patients before RTX treatment they were no dsg3-sp Tfr cells in their blood and that after RTX treatment and in patient with no relapse, dsg3-sp Tfr cells begin to appear in a high quantity.Thus, the present invention relates to a method of determining whether a patient suffering from a Pemphigus vulgaris (PV) has or is at risk of relapsing after a rituximab (RTX) treatment.
