Abstract

The invention provides a computer-implemented method for providing an application-based tool for energy preservation for buildings, the method comprising obtaining a building characteristics data set, obtaining, for one or more rooms of the building, a respective room characteristics data set representative of the room characteristics, obtaining measurement data, determining a plurality of potential energy preservation measures associated with at least one of the one or more rooms, the determining being based on a difference between expected energy consumption associated with the room derived from reference data and an actual energy consumption associated with the room, wherein the actual energy consumption is calculated based at least in part on the measurement data set, predicting energy savings associated with each of the energy preservation measures, outputting at least some of the potential energy preservation measures and associated energy savings to a user, and receiving, via the application interface, a user selection of selected energy preservation measures to be implemented.
