Abstract

Apparatus for generating control data for controlling an automotive shredder residue (ASR) recycling process. A providing unit provides measurement data indicative of a spectrum received from plastic fragments when subjected to spectroscopy. A classification model providing unit provides a plastic classification model for classifying the plastic fragments into a plastic class, wherein the plastic classes depend on plastic fragment types and/or further additives. The classification model is a machine learning based model trained utilizing historical data to classify plastic fragments based on the measurement data. A classification unit classifies the plastic fragments based on the classification model and the measurement data. A control data generation unit generates control data for controlling a recycling process based on the classification of the plastic fragments.
