Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a roof window. The roof window comprises a frame (2, 2a, 2b) and a vacuum insulated glass unit (3) which is supported by the frame (2). The vacuum insulated glass unit (3) comprises a first glass sheet (3a) and a second glass sheet (3b), wherein an insulating, evacuated gap (4) is placed between the first glass sheet (3a) and the second glass sheet (3b). An edge seal (9) encloses the evacuated gap (4). The vacuum insulated glass unit (3) comprises an exterior glass sheet (EGS, 3a, 3d) comprising an exterior major surface (3a2, 3d2) configured to face towards the exterior (EXT) of the building. The exterior glass sheet (3a, 3d, EGS) may comprise a projecting glass sheet portion (3p3) which projects beyond a side edge (3b_se) of the adjacent glass sheet (3b, 3a) with a side projecting distance (DIS3) at one or both of the sides (SI1, SI2) of the roof window (1).
