Abstract
Video coding may be performed using reconstruction-reordered intra block copy (RRIBC) handling in intra template matching prediction (ITMP) merge mode. A device (e.g., a decoder) may determine if a neighboring coding unit (CU) is coded in a RRIBC mode. The device may, e.g., based on the determination that the neighboring CU is coded in the RRIBC mode, add an ITMP merge candidate associated with the neighboring CU to an ITMP merge candidate list. The device may flip a template and/or a block associated with the added ITMP merge candidate. For example, the template and/or the block may be flipped using a flipping direction. The device may select, e.g., from the ITMP candidate list, an ITMP candidate. The device may decode a current block using the selected ITMP candidate.
