Abstract
The present invention is directed to a reliable, precise method for locating the blind spot (200) in the visual field of a person. The distance between the center of a focus point and the center (C) of the located blind spot can then be used to calibrate any ophthalmological test such as e.g. the test of determining the visual acuity of a person, the distance visual acuity as well as the near visual acuity; the test of determining the perimetry of a person, the checking of glaucoma progression, the detection of neurological visual field defects, etc. This allows the self-testing at home by the patient and leads to an early detection of tumors or mute strokes near the visual pathways.
