Abstract

The disclosure relates to a method (100) for testing an insulation resistance of an insulated magnetic wire (10). The insulated magnetic wire (10) comprising a wire portion (11) and an insulation portion (12) enclosing the wire portion (11), the method (100) comprising: (101) cooling the insulated magnetic wire (10) to a temperature below 0 °C, (102) applying an electric potential difference between the wire portion (11) and an electrically conductive material at least partially surrounding the insulation portion (12), and (103) increasing the electric potential difference until at least one of a partial discharge and a voltage breakdown of the insulated magnetic wire (10) occurs.
