Abstract

The invention relates to an active tyre (10) having a tread (12), the active tyre (10) comprises an electrically controllable active layer (20) arranged under the tread (12), the active layer (20) being provided with a temperature control unit (30) for varying the temperature of the tread (12). The invention also relates to a grip control system (100) for a vehicle, the system comprises an active tyre (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 13, sensors (110) for directly or indirectly determining the grip of the active tyre (10) on a road surface, and an electronic control unit (120) for controlling the active layer (20) based on signals from the sensors (110).
