Abstract

The invention relates to a pressure measuring device configured to surround a subject's body part. It comprises a pressure application element configured to apply pressure to the body part, a pressure sensing device configured to measure a pressure signal of the subject and a shell 4 which is arranged to be located between the pressure application element and the body part. The shell is curled to a conical or cylindrical configuration and comprises an elastic liner 93 arranged inside of the curled shell, wherein, if the pressure measuring device does not surround the body part, there is free space in between the liner 93 and the inner surface of the shell 4. This allows to reduce the likelihood of wrinkles of the liner and thus of pressure marks on the skin of the body part caused by wrinkles, wherein still the pressure measuring device is usable with different diameters.
