Abstract
A bearing arrangement (60) of a gas turbine engine includes a first bearing (26) supportive of a shaft, and a second bearing (28) axially offset from the first bearing (26). A first bearing support (62) extends from a bearing housing (64) to the first bearing (26), and a second bearing support (66) extends from a bearing housing (64) to the second bearing (28). One or more radial bearing supports (72) including a plurality of radial spokes (76) extend between the bearing housing (64) and the second bearing (28). The spokes (76) are configured to buckle under compression when radial loads at the second bearing (28) exceed a predetermined force threshold. An axially-extending spoke foot (80) extends from at least one radial spoke (76). The axially-extending spoke foot (80) is configured to contact the second bearing (28) in the event of a tilt of the second bearing (28) beyond a predetermined angle threshold, reducing the buckling force of the plurality of radial spokes (76) below a second predetermined force threshold.
