Abstract

The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method and system for determining a soil property indicator score, wherein the method comprises selecting at least one soil property; receiving soil property data for a plurality of locations within a region; determining an inherent site-specific factor; receiving geospatial data for the plurality of locations; and assigning a geospatial class to at least a part of the plurality of locations, based on the inherent site-specific factor and on the received soil property data; identifying land parcels within the region, each land parcel including two or more locations with the same geospatial class; receiving predetermined value data for said soil property for a specific location within the region; determining the geospatial class of the land parcel comprising the specific location; identifying a subset of land parcels, each land parcel in the subset having the same geospatial class as the land parcel comprising the specific location; determining a scoring function for said soil property based on the received geospatial data of the subset of land parcels; and determining the soil property indicator score of the specific location based on the determined scoring function. Further embodiments relate to the generation of a soil health index and the generation of a recommendation and/or implementation of an agricultural practice.
