Abstract

The present invention relates to an electrically powered road vehicle (1), comprising: - at least two rear drive wheels (2), a rear axle (11) and a rear differential (10); - a rear electric propulsion system (4), comprising a reversible electric machine (6), at least one battery (7) operatively connected to the electric machine (6), a transmission box (8) connected to the electric machine (6), and a drive shaft (9) connecting the transmission box (8) to the rear differential (10), wherein the battery (7) is arranged in front of the rear axle (11), wherein the electric machine (6), the transmission box (8) and the drive shaft (9) are arranged raised and cantilevered to the rear of the rear axle (11), with the electric machine (6) oriented longitudinally, the transmission box (8) oriented transversely and the drive shaft (9) oriented longitudinally or substantially longitudinally, such that the electric machine (6) - transmission box (8) - drive shaft (9) assembly has a substantially U-shaped configuration.
