Abstract

A method for controlling a powertrain (7) of a vehicle (1), the powertrain comprising a device (11) for converting energy for driving wheels (4), an engine (15), configured for providing energy to the device, a kinetic energy recovery system (17) switching between a suppling configuration in which the kinetic energy recovery system provides energy and a charging configuration in which the kinetic energy recovery system is charged. The powertrain switches between a regenerative configuration in which the kinetic energy recovery system is in the charging configuration and the device is powered by the engine, and a powered configuration in which the kinetic energy recovery system is in the supplying configuration. The method comprises at least one regeneration-power cycle, comprising the steps of controlling the powertrain in the regenerative configuration, switching the powertrain from the regenerative configuration to the powered configuration; and controlling the powertrain in the powered configuration.
