Abstract

Disclosed is a system for communicating between and electric vehicle and a charging station, the system comprising a remote computing system and a charging station, wherein the charging station is connected to the remote computing system, the system further comprising means for: establishing a connection for digital data communication to the electric vehicle by the charging station, processing data, by the remote computing system, to produce a first set of data frames to be transmitted to the electric vehicle, transmitting the first set of data frames to the charging station by the remote computing system, transmitting, by the charging station, the first set of data frames to the electric vehicle by transmitting a first bit stream in accordance with the first set of data frames over the connection, receiving, by the charging station, a second bit stream from the electric vehicle over the connection, processing, by the charging station, the second bit stream to obtain a second set of data frames, transmitting, by the charging station, the second set of data frames to the remote computing system, and processing the second set of data frames by the remote computing system.
