Abstract

A boat propulsion device includes an engine, a propeller shaft, a transmission device, a cover, a shoe pin, a shoe, and an elastic member. The transmission device includes a drive gear and a driven gear that meshes with the drive gear. The cover covers the propeller shaft. The shoe pin positions between the propeller shaft and the cover. The shoe pin rotates around the propeller shaft with the propeller shaft. The shoe attached to the shoe pin rotates around the shoe pin. The shoe includes a first part located on one side and a second part located on the other side of the direction that intersects the radial direction of the propeller shaft with respect to the shoe pin. The center of gravity of the shoe is located in the first part. The elastic member exerts a force, causing the second part and the cover to contact each other.
