Abstract

A computer implemented method Computer implemented method (1) for generating modified machine control data for a 3D printer to produce a prototype (400) of a planned three-dimensional object (500) with a printing material, particularly a prototype having a reduced dimensions compared to the original dimensions of the planned three dimensional object (500), whereby initial machine control data (200) suitable for producing the planned three-dimensional object (500) is modified based on a defined scaling factor (210), and optionally defined prototype printing parameters (211), in order to obtain modified machine control data (200') that is suitable for 3D printing the prototype (400) of the planned three dimensional object (500) with the given scaling factor (210).
