Abstract

An electric drive unit (1) is disclosed, which comprises an electric machine (2) with a stator (7) and a rotor (10) with a hollow rotor shaft (11a..11c). Moreover, the electric drive unit (1) comprises a drive shaft (15a..15c) running through an axial bore of the rotor shaft (11a..11c) and a rotor cooling system (16a..16c) designed to spray a coolant into a gap (B) between the rotor shaft (11a..11c) and the drive shaft (15a..15c) at an axial end (C1) of the rotor shaft (11a..11c). Further on, a method of cooling such an electric drive unit (1) is disclosed. Finally, a vehicle (34) with such an electric drive unit (1) is disclosed.
