Abstract
An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device includes a body, a heater disposed in the body and including a carbonaceous material, a temperature sensor configured to output a signal corresponding to the temperature of the heater, a power supply configured to supply power to the heater, a heater driving circuit electrically connected to the heater and the power supply, and a controller configured to control power supplied to the heater. The controller determines a temperature increase rate of the heater based on the signal received from the temperature sensor, and upon determining that the temperature increase rate is equal to or higher than a predetermined rate, the controller controls the heater driving circuit to interrupt supply of power to the heater.
