Abstract
A sole structure for an article of footwear, the sole structure comprising: a cushioning element; an outsole including a ground-engaging surface and an upper surface formed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface and opposing the cushioning element, the upper surface including a first channel extending along a medial side of the outsole and a second channel extending along a lateral side of the outsole, the outsole defining a protuberance disposed between the first channel and the second channel and extending in a direction toward the cushioning element; a first cushion disposed between the outsole and the cushioning element and received within the first channel; a second cushion disposed between the outsole and the cushioning element and received within the second channel, the first cushion and the second cushion each exposed at a respective one of the medial side of the outsole and the lateral side of the outsole; a series of elongate conduits, each conduit extending in parallel to an adjacent conduit of the series of elongate conduits and transverse to a longitudinal axis of the sole structure; and a web area joining the first cushion and the second cushion and in contact with the protuberance.
