Abstract
A method of maintaining or improving the properties of skin by applying topically to the skin a (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate moiety and topical use of (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate moieties and a topical composition (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate moieties and an excipient for topical application and a skin product for application to skin in the form of a liquid, gel, cream, lotion, mousse, aerosol, shampoo, conditioner, toilet bar, antiperspirant, deodorant, depilatory lipsticks, foundation product, mascara, sunless tanner and sunscreen lotion containing a (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate moiety is disclosed.
