Abstract
[Problem] To make it possible to disperse organic-modified nanoparticles even into solvents having a relatively large molecular weight and to increase the degree of freedom in solvent selection. [Solution] The present invention is a method for dispersing organic-modified nanoparticles into a solvent, and includes a dispersion step of dispersing organic-modified nanoparticles having organic modifying groups on the surface into a solvent. The solvent contains a poorly dispersible solvent that is poorly dispersible with respect to the organic-modified nanoparticles and a predetermined molecule. With respect to van der Waals volume, under the temperature and pressure in the dispersion treatment step the van der Waals volume of the predetermined molecule is smaller than that of the solvent and smaller than that of the organic modifying groups, and with respect to the dispersion term δ<D> of the Hansen solubility parameters the absolute value of the difference between the value at the pressure of the organic-modified nanoparticles and the value of the predetermined molecule is 1.2 MPa<1/2> or less, and the absolute value of the difference between the value at the pressure of the organic-modified nanoparticles and the value of the poorly dispersible mixed solvent containing the predetermined molecule is 1.2 MPa<1/2> or less.
